Safaricom Plc has announced a scheduled outage of M-Pesa services for its customers.

In a statement released on Monday, October 18, 2021, the telecommunications giant revealed that services will be unavailable on Tuesday, October 19, due to planned maintenance.

"We are constantly investing and innovating M-PESA to ensure that we continue well as continue to support our partners in their business ambitions.


"To support this continued transformation, we regularly undertake enhancement time to time.," the statement read in part.

The M-PESA services shall be undergoing planned maintenance on Tuesday, October 19, starting from 11:59 pm to Wednesday, October 20, at 4 am.

"During the maintenance, all M-PESA services including airtime purchase shall be temporarily unavailable," the telco stated.

According to the statement, the timing of this maintenance activity has been planned to result in the least inconvenience to customers.

"We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused and thank you for your continued support."

From time to time the telco has purposed to undertake maintenance of its services to enhance customer experience.
