President William Ruto on Wednesday launched the National Police Service Leadership Academy in Ngong, Kajiado county.

President William Ruto on Wednesday, December 21,  launched the National Police Service Leadership Academy in Ngong, Kajiado county.

The Academy, whose construction is supported by the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), will provide training and capacity building for senior officers of the National Police Service. 

The Academy sits on an expansive piece of land and is envisaged to be a centre of excellence in offering security and policing-related management courses geared towards the transformation of police management.

The project is expected to cost approximately Sh1 Billion and will have 210 housing units. 

President Ruto noted that the government is committed to ensuring that the Police service is professionalized to fully deliver on its mandate of offering public safety and security services to Kenyans, adding that the academy would play a critical role in the professionalization of the security agency.
