Editor's Review

  • YouTube in a message to Flaqo said the channel had been linked to an account that had been previously banned from the platform for violating copyright rules.
  • The comedian has said the decision was malicious, accusing forces seeking to kick him out of social media of being behind the move.

Fraudulent content creators are to blame for the termination of Flaqo Raz channel on YouTube over copyright issues, the Kenyan internet sensation known to his fans as Flaqqo has said.

The fast-rising comedian on Friday announced that his YouTube account had been suspended by YouTube, saying malicious content creators were working hard to take him down.

YouTube told the comedian that his channel had been linked to an account that had been previously banned from the platform for violating copyright rules.

"We'd like to inform you that your channel Flaqo Raz has been terminated because we concluded that it was linked to a channel that was linked to a channel that had three or more copyright strikes.

"Please be aware that you are prohibited from accessing, processing or creating any other YouTube accounts unless the linked channel is reinstated," YouTube's explanation reads.

Flaqo has a chance to appeal the decision by YouTube, but restoration will be subject to a thorough review by the company. He recently crossed the 100,000 subscribers mark and was awarded by YouTube.

"At this point, it is really exhausting...Please report all channels that are not mine but have my content in it...Boycott...I've worked so hard to be disrespected every damn time, malice...

"Why...Because I'm just about to launch my show on youtube it is maliciously taken down...Am not dropping the mic btw so if you maliciously want me out of the industry sorry????.....we will be back with twice the energy, this war of kicking me out of social media every time is getting a little personal," he wrote on social media.
