Kenyan media personality Betty Kyallo has been ranked among the top 100 most influential African youth.
Avance Media and Africa Youth Awards released the ranking.
On the list, the former K24 anchor emerged 17th, beating some notable names from the continent. Notably, she emerged ahead of Ugandan politician Bobi Wine, Diamond Platnumz, Burna Boy, Sadio Mane, among others.
Nigeria recorded the highest representation with 21 young achievers, with Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa also recording a representation of 10 young people each.
Other Kenyans who made it to the list include activist Boniface Mwangi (19), Edith Kimani (33), and Comedian Njugush (68).

Betty Kyallo is known for a stellar career in the media industry alongside exceptional entrepreneurship skills.
“The 2020 list features young people pursuing various interests intended to put the name of the continent on the globe through selfless sacrifices and spirited leadership,” said Prince Akpah, MD of Avance Media.
The announcement of the list precedes the African Union’s annual Africa Youth Day celebration, which will recognize young African trailblazers from across the continent for 2020.
In ranking the young achievers, Avance Media considered excellence in leadership and performance, personal accomplishments, commitment to sharing knowledge, breaking the Status Quo, and being an accomplished young African.
