Sauti Sol lead singer Bien-Aime Baraza has disclosed that he wanted to end his marriage with his wife, Chiki Kuruka eight months after their wedding.

Speaking on the Men Talk YouTube channel, the singer stated that they got married a few months before the COVID-19 pandemic and when it hit, they were forced to spend a lot of time together.

With time, Bien noted that being around his wife all the time took a toll on him making him contemplate a divorce.

"For a long time in my life I always looked at my wife as a love interest romantically and then the pandemic happened; being the house all day with my chic every day amazing as she was driving me nuts. The small things became the big things and eight months in I'm like, 'I want divorce this is too much'

"I started going for counselling, I was like I don't want to be married because I didn't realize all the time we were dating I was travelling and I come for two weeks and my house was empty for a whole year and I told her to move into my house, it was all rosy and now the true colours started to show," Bien said.

In June 2021, Chiki dismissed claims that she is in an open marriage with Bien noting that they both value honesty and openness, saying it keeps their relationship going.

"Bien and I were cracking jokes on Sol Family, and that’s how a comment was interpreted. However, we both deeply agree with honesty and communication, even if that includes lusting over celebs. How it got so big is what's funny to me," Chiki said.

Bien had earlier said that he and his wife are free to lust over other celebrities.

"Me and Chiki have this thing where if I ever meet my celebrity crush somewhere and I am in a situation where my celebrity crush wants to ‘engage in coitus’ with me, then so be it and vice versa," he said.
