  • Odhiambo had hinted that he would be joining an English radio station.

Radio presenter Nick Odhiambo has landed a new job, just days after quitting Standard Group owned Radio Maisha.

A source privy to the details intimated to Nairobi Leo that Odhiambo will co-host the Hot Breakfast alongside Jeff Koinange.

He is set to officially begin work on Wednesday, replacing comedian Prof Hamo who was Koinange’s co-host.

This comes a few weeks after Nick Odhiambo announced that he was leaving Radio Maisha after 4 years.

He disclosed that he never thought he would ever work in a Swahili radio station but when the opportunity came, he took it.

"Today's my final RHUMBA show on air after 4years at @radiomaisha! Did I ever think I'd switch to Swahili radio? NOPE, but the opportunity came and I took it," he said.

According to Odhiambo, he would be making a comeback in a new station soon.

"... Transitioning back to English radio in a few days tupige sherehe leo buuuuuurrrdan is burrrdaaan," he wrote.

On Thursday, Mr Odhiambo decided to share with his followers details of his first experience on radio, 15 years ago.

According to him, Maina Kageni who was his then boss switched on the mic and asked him to speak, but everything he planned to say slipped his mind and he said they should not do it.

"On 15th July 2006..my then boss @mainakageni put the mic fader up and said ongea Sasa. I swallowed hard and forgot everything I wanted to say and told him 'ama tuache tu' he told me you are already here just go for it.. 15 years in radio today! #NewJobLoading to mark this!
