Kenyan Journalist Ferdinand Omondi has left the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Africa after an 8-year stint.

In a statement via Twitter on Tuesday, May 23, Omondi announced that he has left the international media house with a grateful heart and fond memories.

The renowned journalist also noted that he is excited about what the universe has next for him.

“Today, I close this wonderful chapter of my life at the BBC after 8 years. I have grown, I have learned, and I have thrived.

"I leave with a grateful heart and fond memories. Storytelling is what I do best. And I'm excited for what the universe has next for me on my plate. My story continues,” Omondi stated.

Before joining BBC, Omondi worked as KTN News and NTV Senior Coast Reporter between 2012-2014.

In that period, Omondi covered the Tana River Conflict, the war on Terror, and Coastal Kenya’s tourism and cultural developments and challenges.

Omondi who started his career as a news anchor for HOT 96 has over seven journalism awards and certificates across various journalism genres, including Tourism, Environment, Culture, and Conflict-Sensitive Reporting.

He holds a Diploma in Mass Communication from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.
