George Maringa, the son of veteran politician and lawyer Martha Karua's sister, has finally called it quits at KTN News.

KTN News is a product of the Standard Media Group which owns KTN Home, The Standard Newspaper, Spice FM, Vybez FM and Radio Maisha among many others.

Maringa announced his exit from the station on Friday evening saying he was poised to take on another assignment.

He leaves KTN News after 5 years and 11 months of working for the Mombasa road-based station.

"5 years, 11 months... Thank you for walking the journey with me. On to the next assignment," Maringa shared on his social media platform.

During his stint at the station, Maringa first worked as a correspondent in Mt Kenya region before he was seconded to the main office.

This saw him introduced to news anchoring, a job he has done for some years until his departure from the station on Friday.

He at the same time covered news on the field as a report.

Maringa has not however revealed his next station but that could likely be made public soon.
