Patanisho is a show that seeks to reconcile partners who have different forms of disagreement.

Radio Jambo presenter Gidi Gidi has appealed to the government not to switch off his renowned Patanisho segment following the recent Homeboyz saga.

Patanisho is a show that seeks to reconcile partners who have different forms of disagreement. The segment is comical and delves into personal issues that caused the disagreement and how it can be solved.

Following a decision by the communication authority to suspend Homeboyz radio morning show after its presenters made inappropriate remarks against women some netizens felt that Patanisho could be the next segment on the regulator’s radar.

However, the segment’s host Gidi Gidi has come out to explain that Patanisho does not discriminate against any gender and is only aimed at bringing peace and reconciliation to unhappy couples.

“Patanisho is just an ice breaker show with light moments to make partners reconnect, hatuna ubaya na any gender. Laughter is medicine and can make quarrelling couples to start talking. Msituzime woiyee,” Gidi tweeted.

Meanwhile, the Communication Authority on Sunday slapped Homeboyz radio with a shilling one million fine for violating broadcasting regulations.

The Homeboyz Radio breakfast show was also suspended for six months after its presenters; Shaffie Weru, DJ Joe Mfalme, and Neville were found guilty of gross misconduct.

In addition, Homeboyz radio is to issue an official apology on two local dailies, train its staff on coverage of gender-sensitive issues and ensure all its presenters are accredited by the Media Council of Kenya.

The three presenters have since been fired by Homeboyz Radio.
