Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is willing to give up Ksh1 Million for charity if 40,000 social media users follow him on Instagram.

The flamboyant governor is working with the most sought after social media influencer and comedian Jalang'o in his pursuit for an additional following on social media.

Joho wants to attain 1 Million followers through the initiative and has pledged to give the KissFM presenter Ksh1 Million for a charity initiative of his choice if the goal is realized.

Jalang'o told his social media fans to help him identify a community project that would benefit from the governor's cash prize if the followers hit the 1 Million mark.

Joho's Instagram account only follows one user who most Kenyans have been stalking on the platform in a bod to unravel his identity.

"Now my brother Hassan Joho has a challenge for me...he called me and asked me why I have 2M followers and not even 1M for him.

"He is at 959K Just 41K to go...for him to hit 1M ...He told me if I get #TeamJalas to follow him to 1M he is gonna donate 1M for me to any community project! I told him he doesn't know me! I promised him that he will be at 1M followers before Sunday!" Jalang'o wrote on Instagram.

Some user said they'd not fall for the drive, saying they could have followed the governor if he extended the same courtesy to celebrities or at least follow a few more Kenyans.
