President Uhuru Kenyatta enjoyed some lovely moments with his grandson at KICC as he flagged off the WRC Safari rally on Thursday, June 23.
The grandson is named after the Head of State, Baby Uhuru.
During the President's speech, Uhuru's eldest son, Jomo Kenyatta was captured holding his child.
Afterward, as the President flagged off the rally cars, Jomo is seen handing over the son to him.
The President then held Baby Uhuru who had a striped shirt and a white cap.
Jomo and his wife Fiona Achola welcomed baby Uhuru on May 27, 2020. This was Jomo and Achola's second child.
While flagging off the WRC rally, the President announced that Kenya will continue hosting the World Rally Championship for the next five years as per the sealed agreement with the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
"We expect that this year’s event will be bigger and even better. Already, the enthusiasm by spectators and the euphoria in cities and towns across the country is unmistakable. This is a clear indication of the close connection that Kenyans of all ages and from different parts of the country have with this sport,” Kenyatta stated.
