On Tuesday, The DP visited the party headquarters  and interacted with several officials. However, senior Jubilee officials were missing in action.

Deputy President William Ruto has made his way back to the Jubilee Party Headquarters barely a day after his last visit.

The DP’s visit comes shortly after Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju announced that the ruling outfit won’t contest in the Mswambweni mini-poll.

In a statement released earlier today, Tuju announced that the decision by the party not participate in the by-election was also informed by the recent advisory by Chief Justice David Maraga to dissolve Parliament.

"... the decision not to engage in the contest is informed by the facts prevailing at the moment when we face challenges like the recent advisory by the Chief Justice that parliament should be dissolved," the statement read in part.

According to the statement by Mr Tuju, the decision not to field a candidate was also influenced by the ODM-Jubilee cooperation in Parliament and in the national government.

Ruto not pleased by decision to quit Msambweni poll

Reports indicate that DP Ruto is not pleased by the party’s decision not to contest in Mswambweni by-election, thus the decision for him to return to the party headquarters.

Unlike his Tuesday visit, he was today accompanied by a number of his close allies including; Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir and blogger Dennis Itumbi.

On Tuesday, DP Ruto visited the Jubilee headquarters and interacted with staff. However, the party’s top officials were missing in action.

“At  @JubileePartyK Headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi County, for party matters… Jubilee is a national party that is founded on the principles of inclusion, cohesion and transformation of our country. Our politics is driven by ideas that are people-centered,” he tweeted.
