Politicians in Kenya are known to be rich folks or at least perceived to be. A majority of them boast investment portfolios cutting across various sectors of the economy.

In this segment, Nairobileo.co.ke takes a look at one of the lucrative businesses owned by Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi.

The lawmaker owns Miss White Spa which is located along Wood Avenue in Kilimani. The high-end establishment is operated by Amisi's wife Whitney Sang.

According to media reports, the beauty establishment is estimated at a cost of Ksh60 million. It offers diverse services including a barbershop, nail bar, massage, steam room and sauna.

Whitney, who is the CEO, stated that they settled on the business after they were urged to have every beauty experience under one roof.

"After travelling the world and seeing how other salons are run in other parts of the world, we wanted to bring that elegance home and give people an international experience," she said during an interview with a local daily in July 2020.

The establishments boast modern designs and amazing decor, starting at the entrance. Its furniture is imported to ensure clients have the best experience possible.

Miss White Spa has distinguished sections for the barbershop, the salon, among other services. It is also child-friendly since it has seats for kids in the space.

According to reports, a haircut from a team of well-trained barbers led by celebrity barber, hair designer and stylist Armstrong Andira is said to cost Ksh1,000. Other services are charged separately.

Also in the space is the nail bar and individual sections for pedicures.

The establishment also has private rooms for massages. Most of the clients prefer Swedish massages which focus on the tissues and sports massages for clients that work out.

The beauty facility also offers a facial and a full-body scrub.

Even better, the SPa has consultations with medical practitioners who give their professional opinion on treatment for clients.

Miss White Spa has one of the rare saunas in Nairobi. Also available is a steam bath.

The Spa also has a private wing for clients seeking VIP services and are charged 20 per cent more than the regular clients.

The establishment mainly targets high-end clients. Some of the popular names that have visited the establishment include comedian Eric Omondi, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Starehe MP Charles Njagua, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, ODM leader Raila Odinga, among others.

The spa moved to its current location in 2019 and currently has over 30 employees.
