East Africa Spectre Gas Company was the subject of discussion on social media on 27 March 2023 after a group of unknown persons invaded it and destroyed property.
Although a comprehensive police report regarding the attack is yet to be released, it is believed that the invasion is in relation to weekly protests being headed by Odinga and his allies.
Spectre focuses on manufacturing of gas cylinders and is believed to be one of the leading companies in this sector in East Africa. In this article, we share details of the nine-man senior management team running Raila’s Spectre company:
Dr Oburu Odinga - Chairman
The Siaya Senator who’s also Raila’s elder brother chairs the company’s board. He basically oversees the company’s business and helps with matters of strategy.

Ida Odinga - Managing Director
Raila’s spouse and former Kenya High Girls School teacher is the Managing Director at East African Spectre.
As the managing director, she is charged with the duty of ensuring that the company runs smoothly and achieve its goals and objectives.
Raila Odinga Junior - Director
According to his Linkedin page, Odinga Junior is the director in charge of finance.
Junior is a finance expert having attained a BSc Accounting and Finance from Bangor University, Wales and an MSc in Finance from Leeds Becket University.
Israel Agina - Director
Agina is a close ally of the Odinga family and is widely known as being the one who was detained longest at the Nyayo Torture chambers. He reportedly stayed in the chambers for 96 days.

Agina is a Mechanical engineer and is said to have played a key role in the establishment of the company. A report published by Nation in July 2022 indicated that he owns 5,000 shares in the company.
Judy Owino- MD’s Assistant
She is an assistant to Mama Ida Odinga. Basically, she ensures Mama ida effectively achieves her roles in the organisation.
Clarice Odando - Business Development Manager
According to her LinkedIn profile, she is responsible for achieving sales targets and growing the company's share of its portfolio through Enterprise accounts within East West and Central Africa.
She holds an undergraduate degree in Commerce and Marketing from the University of Nairobi, a Master’s degree in Strategic Management from Strathmore and Post graduate diploma in marketing from the Chartered institute of Marketing.
Yvonne Odinga- Human Resource and Administration Manager
She is in charge of the company’s staffing needs. She oversees the staff and day-to-day running of the organisation.
Nelly Cheptoo - Chief Accountant.
She is in charge of the books and managing the company’s finances.
Justus Biwott -Technical Manager
According to his LinkedIn profile, Justus is highly experienced in manufacturing, supply chain management, and engineering.
He holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Iowa and a Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University.
