The Head of State has in the past few months stepped out with different designs of Kaunda suits, with some being short while other are long-sleeved.

President William Ruto caught many by surprise when he changed his wardrobe from usual suits to unique kaunda suits. 

The Head of State has in the past few months stepped out with different designs of Kaunda suits, with some being short while others are long-sleeved.

The suits are unique in the country as he's the first president to consistently don them. His predecessors were known to wear the normal suits occasionally blending in with casual wear. 

In this article, we outline 7 instances when the president stepped out in stunning Kaunda suits:

2023 Devolution Conference

President Ruto was the guest of honour at the 2023 devolution conference held in Eldoret. He officially opened the conference on 16 August 2023 where he urged governors and other county government stakeholders to exercise integrity and proper utilisation of the resources.

Nakuru Housing Project

The Head State was in Nakuru on 22 August 2023 where he launched the Bahati affordable housing programme and addressed roadside gatherings.

President Ruto turned up for the event in a short-sleeved maroon kaunda suit.

Kisii Interdenominational Prayers

On 20 August 2023, Ruto was in Kisii County where he attended an interdenominational prayer service at Nyanturago Stadium in the company of Simba Arati (Kisii Governor), Ezekiel Machogu (Education Cabinet Secretary), and MPs led by Kimani Ichung'wah (Majority Leader) and Silvanos Osoro (Majority Whip).

He attended this event in a short-sleeved beige suit.

KCB Foundation 2jiajiri Graduation Ceremony

President Ruto was one of the guests who graced KCB Foundation's 2jiajiri graduation ceremony that happened on 18 August 2023. He wore a brown suit.

State House Meeting with Katherine Tai

On July 19 2023 while meeting Ambassador Katherine Tai, the Principal Trade Advisor and Spokesperson on U.S. trade policy at State House, Nairobi, the president wore a stripped suit.

Meeting President Museveni in Uganda

The Head of State paid Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni a visit on 13 August 2023 where they held talks on matters of mutual interest, especially trade, infrastructure (rail), regional security, and agriculture. He wore a greenish suit for the meeting.

Launching Projects in Tetu

President Ruto visited Tetu, Nyeri County during his recent 5-day working tour of the Mt Kenya region. During the visit he commissioned the 2,500-acre Kaigunji Irrigation project which is projected to increase the value of horticultural products by Sh500 million a year and create at least 15,000 jobs.
