-President Uhuru Kenyatta Congratulates US President-Elect Joseph Biden

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday sent a congratulatory message to President-Elect Joseph Robinette Biden following his win in the recent United States of America elections.

The Head of State termed the emphatic win in the hard-fought polls as a demonstration of Americans' confidence in the leadership credentials of the former Vice President.

"On behalf of the People and the Government of the Republic of Kenya, I congratulate President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris for their emphatic win and wish them all the best as they prepare to lead the United States of America into a future of prosperity," the President said.

Kenyatta added,'' President-Elect Joe Biden is a friend of our country who has visited us in the past and helped in strengthening the strong ties that exist between us and the United States of America."

In his acceptance speech, Biden vowed to unite all Americans pleading with Donald Trump's voters to give him a chance.

"To rebuild the soul of America, to rebuild the backbone of this nation, the middle class and to make America respected around the world again.

"For all those of you who voted for President Trump, I understand the disappointment tonight. I've lost a couple of times myself. But now, let's give each other a chance," Biden said. "It's time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again, listen to each other again. And to make progress we have to stop treating our opponents as enemies," part of his speech read.
