Economist David Ndiii is the man behind Deputy President William Ruto's bottom-up economic model.

Ndii is a key member of the DP's campaign team and is the brains behind the second in command's economic plan for the country.

The economist is known for his lack of fear when it comes to speaking his piece of mind. Ndii was a chief campaign strategist for the National Super Alliance (NASA) and is a harsh critic of the Jubilee government. Even after the March 2018 handshake, he did not hold back on criticising President Uhuru Kenyatta's government.

During a series of attacks against the Jubilee government online, a tweep took a swipe at the economist for constantly criticising the government yet he owned nothing.

"You advise so much yet u own nothing....point us a business u do," the tweep stated.

"The problem with academics like @DavidNdii is they have no skin in the game. They comment on the economy, but don’t own businesses, aren’t entrepreneurs, don’t own hedge funds where they actually have to manage money, et.c," another added.

To silence the tweeps, Ndii shared images of his posh house along with the bar and library.

"Ndiyo hiyo," he tagged the images,

The house boasts a unique architectural design. The exterior of the house is grey and has a dark grey roof. It has marron pillars.

The compound has a well-manicured lawn with well-treamed edges.

The house has a vintage library and wine cellar, where the economist takes time to unwind, or spend time with colleagues.

According to reports, Ndii is the chairman of the board of directors of Zimele Asset Management Company.

The company website states that the firm was started with the “core business of providing fund management services”. Zimele has morphed to managing funds under Zimele Unit Trust and the Zimele Pension Schemes. Part of the site reads:

“In addition, Zimele offers investment advisory services to a range of individual and corporate clients.

"Zimele has more than 15 years of experience in the management of pooled funds and is recognized as a leading retail investment management service provider. The diversity and high level of professionalism of our team on investment research, pension administration, and fund management has allowed us to meet and exceed customer expectations. Our aim as a team is to ensure that our clients receive high-quality service at all times," the company states.

Having been in the field of finance over the years, Ndii can be identified as well off.
