Kenya recorded 552 Covid-19 positive cases, from a sample size of 7,013 tested in the last 24 hours.

This brings the total number of cases to 93,405 with the cumulative tests now standing at 991,448.

The Ministry of Health recorded are 529 Kenyans while 23 are foreigners.

596 patients have recovered from the disease with 484 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 112 have been discharged from various hospitals.

The total recoveries now stand at 74,999. An additional 4 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the cumulative fatalities to 1,618.

"There are 843 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide and 6,090 on Home Based Isolation and Care," a statement from MoH read.

Recoveries & Counties

"49 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 22 of whom are on ventilatory support, and 21 on supplemental oxygen. 6 are on observation," it added.

An additional 43 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen out of whom 33 are in the general wards. 10 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

The cases are from the Counties of Nairobi 222, Mombasa 46, Homa Bay 33, Lamu 25, Nakuru 23, Taita Taveta 21, Kilifi 21, Nyeri 18, Kiambu 14, Turkana 13, Siaya 13, Embu 12, Kakamega 11, Murang’a 9, Laikipia 9, Machakos 8 and Kitui 7.
