A new report has revealed the most viewed TV stations in Kenya as of 2020.

The report was released by the Media Council of Kenya. Here is a list of the most viewed station and the viewership percentage.

1. Citizen TV - 35%

2. NTV Kenya - 13 percent

3. KTN Home - 11%

4. KTN News - 9%

5. Inooro TV - 7%

6. K24 - N/A

7. Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC)- N/A

8. Switch TV - N/A

9. KTN Burudani - N/A

10.Kass TV- N/A

 11. Gikuyu TV - N/A

According to the Status of the Media report that was released on Friday, there was a slight rise in TV viewership something mainly tied to the Coronavirus pandemic.

“55% of Kenyans had more time to read and listen to news and content due to COVID-19 restrictions,” said MCK Chief Executive Officer David Omwoyo said.

He noted that the media played a critical role in disseminating information during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Overall, television viewership currently stands at 74 percent compared to 73 percent last year.

The report also identified the following stations as the most listened to radio stations.

1. Radio Citizen - 19%

2. Radio Jambo - 14%

3. Radio Maisha - 10%

4. Inooro FM - 5%

5. Kameme FM - 5%

 6. Milele FM - 5%

 7. Classic 105 - 3%

 8. Radio Taifa - 3%

 9. Ramogi FM - 3%

10. Musyi FM - 3%

11. Kass FM - 2%

12. Kiss 100 - 2%

13.Chamgei FM - 2%

Egesa FM, NRG Radio, KBC English Service, Ghetto Radio, Radio Nam Lolwe, Mulembe FM, Muuga FM, Hot 96, Gukena, Sulwe FM and Capital FM - 1%
