A Kisii University lecturer who had been reported missing has been found dead.

The body of Peter Nyang’acha Moracha was on Saturday found at his rented house in the town.

Reports indicate that the deceased’s brother had visited the former’s home only to find his body lying on the floor with lots of blood.

Police have commenced investigations to determine circumstances surrounding the death lecturer who went missing ten days ago.


Reports indicate that the Environmental Science lecturer had deep cuts in the face, suggesting that he may have been tortured and hit by blunt objects leading to his death.

According to area Chief Yobes Onkanga Mose, it is highly likely that the deceased’s body had been in the house for at least ten days.

The family wants the incident thoroughly investigated to establish the exact cause of death, and anyone found guilty dealt with in accordance to the law.

The lecturer’s body is currently at the Kisii hospital morgue awaiting examination.

Meanwhile, a nineteen-year-old girl is being held in Siaya after she reportedly attacked two policemen.

One of the policemen was reportedly cut by a glass on the head and in the arm. He is currently receiving treatment at a Sagam hospital.
