Media personality Lillian Muli has responded to reports that she plans to vie for the vacant Machakos Senatorial seat.

This is after a poster went viral urging voters to elect Muli for the March 23rd mini polls.

According to the poster, Muli would be vying on the Wiper Democratic Party ticket. However, through an Instagram post, Muli stated that the poster was fake.

The Citizen TV news anchor went ahead to point out obvious errors like her misspelled name in the poster as the reason why it is was fake. She called on her fans to ignore the poster.

“My name has double L so this is a fake poster. Ignore! Also, stop sending me this asking if it's true it's NOT!,” she said.

The seat fell vacant following the death of Boniface Kabaka who suffered an alleged cardiac arrest.

The lawmaker was admitted at the Nairobi Hospital ICU for close to a week before his untimely death.

On Tuesday, IEBC gazetted March 23rd as the official date for the by-election. By press time, no candidates had been announced for the seat.
