The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi announced that he will be on the ballot come 2022.

Kituyi declared his ambitions to capture the Presidential seat in 2022 when Kenya will be holding its general elections.

The announcement was made on Saturday, January 2 while addressing the press in Bungoma town.

“I am ready to serve the country owing to my international experience. It is no longer a secret. I will be going for the presidency in 2022," said Kituyi.

"Nobody should tell us who to support. We need a President who will save this country and Kenyans from a bad economy," he continued.

The UNCTAD boss said the person who should vie for the presidency should tell Kenyans the reason why they want to win power, that has to address the vulnerability of Kenyans and give hope to the economy of the country.

Kituyi said he was completing his term at UNCTAD and will be back in the country for vigorous well-organised campaigns.
