Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has weighed in on ex-Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s impeachment, insinuating that Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho and Solicitor General Ken Ogeto could have played a role in the latter’s ouster.

In a post on his social media pages, Sudi shared a screenshot from Sonko’s zoom court hearing, claiming that both Kibicho and Ogeto were present.

According to Sudi, their alleged presence in the meeting means that they are interested in the case.

“PS Karanja Kibicho and Solicitor General Ken Ogeto, Njee Muturi were following live court proceedings in Sonko's case via Zoom. At least we now know who is interested in this case and why was Sonko's impeachment rushed and even gazetted at midnight. These are Harambee house prefects and monitors I have been talking about,” he posted.

Meanwhile, the High Court on Monday January 4, 2021 suspended the upcoming by-elections in Nairobi until a suit filed by Sonko is heard and determined.

Sonko moved to court challenging the decision by the Senate to uphold his impeachment by the Nairobi County Assembly.

In his suit, he argues that the County Assembly did not meet the required Constitutional threshold to impeach him.
