ODM leader Raila Odinga on Thursday celebrated his 76th birthday.

To mark the occasion, Raila held a low key lavish party at his Karen residence on Thursday evening.

According to ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale, the former prime minister, spent the better part of the day working in his office. 

Those in attendance included; Mama Ida Odinga, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, former Starehe MP Maina Kamanda, Kiambu Governor James Nyoro, Majority Leader of the National Assembly Amos Kimunya, among others.


Earlier in the day, Kenyans took to social media with the hashtag #HappyBirthdayRaila to wish the former a happy birthday.

"To our Party Leader @RailaOdinga, we are proud to be a part of your special day. May you be blessed with many more. You are a wonderful leader to the world of yesterday, today and the future. We thank God for making you the type of person you are today," the party tweeted.

"As you turn over a new leaf, may the Almighty continue to bless you with courage and wisdom. Happy Birthday Baba Raila Amollo Odinga," Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho said. 


"To many happy returns my dear friend @RailaOdinga! You have exhibited uncommon wisdom, remarkable vision, and exemplary leadership. I wish you peace, good health and happiness," industrialist Chris Kirubi wrote.

Notably, Raila shares a birthday with other prominent people like Citizen TV news anchor Jeff Koinange, media personality Julie Gichuru, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, and Thirdway Alliance Secretary General Fred Okang'o.
