Ministry of Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i has the reorganization of several county leaders across the country.

A statement released by the ministry indicated that seven county commissioners and 34 deputy commissioners had been reshuffled in the latest changes in government.

The affected county commissioners are Kwale’s Karuku Ngumo who will now be in charge of Meru and Kisii’s Abdirizak Jaldesa who will now oversee government operations in Samburu.

Meru’s commissioner Alan Njagi Macharia has been moved to Kisii n the same capacity while John Kipng’etich Korir from Samburu has been sent to Busia.

Busia’s Joseph Murithi Kanyiri will now be in charge of Kwale

Homa Bay county commissioner Moses Kipkoech Lilan has exchanged positions with Garissa’s Michael Mwangi Meru.

According to the Ministry, the transfers take place with immediate effect

Last year, Matiang’I was promoted to be the coordinator of all government projects making him what many referred to as the ‘Chief Minister’.

The Executive order did not augur well with Deputy President William Ruto and his allies as they left like the DP has been robbed of his powers in the government.

Initially, the DP was the one in charge of overseeing government projects.
