A manhunt has been launched for a driver who fled an accident scene along the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway. 

During the Wednesday morning incident, about 26 people were left nursing serious injuries. 

Confirming the incident, Eldama Ravine sub-county Police Commander Maxwell Agoro said the accident involved a 62-seater bus owned by Kukhu Sacco at Danger Area. 

He said that the bus which was headed to Nairobi veered off the road and rolled several times. 

“The bus was Nairobi-bound and according to our preliminary reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle before rolling, the passengers are lucky we do not have any fatalities,” said Agoro.

He added that the passengers on board suffered serious injuries and are recuperating at Mercy Mission Hospital in Ravine. 

Police have not made any leads in locating the driver.  By press time, his name was yet to be made public.
