The family of politician Simeon Nyachae has dismissed rumours that the former Cabinet Minister is dead.

On Thursday morning and the better part of Wednesday, rumours started spreading on social media platforms that the politician is no more.

However, his son Lee Nyachae dismissed the rumours on social media adding that his father was unwell and receiving treatment.

"I would like to dispel the rumours circulating about my father, Simeon Nyachae. We appreciate the concern from friends and well-wishers. I would like to confirm that he is very much with us," Lee Nyachae said.

South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro was among the first politicians to counter the viral death reports confirming that Mr Nyachae was still alive.

Speaking to reporters, the legislator confirmed that the former Minister is currently admitted at the Nairobi Hospital.
