  • The MP is set to be transferred to Nakuru.

Tiaty MP William Kamket has been arrested in Nairobi on Thursday, January 21 2021.

Reports indicate that the MP was arrested over banditry attacks in Kapedo that have made the region hostile.

According to police, Kamket will be transferred to Nakuru County for questioning.

The Kapedo attacks were condemned by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i terming them as "premeditated cold-blooded, heinous attack''.

Matiang'i Warning

CS Matiang'i on Monday stated that preliminary investigations disclosed that the attackers targetted GSU Deputy Operations Director, Emadau Temako who died after he was ambushed.

"It is a clear case of murder. There was no conflict. It was a premeditated ambush that was targeting our deputy director of operations at the General Service Unit. We must stop pretending and put things candidly," Matiang’i said.

"That part of the country has been very costly to our security officers. We have lost NGAO officers, security officers and innocent wananchi," the CS continued.

Dr Matiang'i said police were investigating elected leaders who funded banditry in the region.
