  • DCI George Kinoti expected to summon Deputy President William Ruto after meeting with Kalonzo Musyoka.
  • Senate Minority Leader James Orengo revealed details of the meeting after Musyoka presented himself at the DCI headquarters on Friday.

Senate Minority Leader James Orengo said Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti assured Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka's team that he will summon Deputy President William Ruto.

The Senior Counsel said he will lead Mr. Musyoka's legal team in his complaint against Deputy President William Ruto.

"The DP has committed an offence and is criminally liable. You are not allowed to defame any person in this country on the basis of falsehood, lies or incitement," the Siaya Senator said.

On Friday, January 22, 2021, Musyoka challenged Dr. Ruto to present himself before investigative agencies and clear his name following allegations by the DP that he had acquired Yatta land illegally.

“As a public officer entrusted with the responsibility of Kenyans, DP Ruto must open himself up to a lifestyle audit and declare his wealth,” the wiper party leader told the press after interrogation at DCI headquarters.

Kalonzo was accompanied by other leaders to the DCI headquarters where he presented documents of the land ownership.

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu also backed Kalonzo saying that the former VP acquired the land legally.
