Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Friday had a heated exchange on Twitter over the latter’s 2022 presidential ambitions.

Speaking on Thursday, Joho noted that he is keen to be Kenya’s next President after the current Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta exits office.

According to Joho, he is experienced and has all it takes to be Kenya’s 5th President.

“ODM is a democratic party. I will apply for the position and seek the party’s ticket,” he said.

Reacting to Joho’s announcement, Junet appeared to indicate that the party had a different candidate, a remark that did not seat will with the governor.

“My Friend let’s meet at the ballot... @HassanAliJoho,” Junet Tweeted.

Reacting to Junet, Joho said “My friend where else did you expect us to meet if not the ballot? @JunetMohamed.”

Responding to Joho, Junet dared him to put all his cards on the table and be ready for a fight.

“Gov they say when a Hyena wants to eat it’s children it first accuses them of smelling like goats.. weka kadi zote juu ya meza..”

Judging by the exchange, it is clear that ODM is set for in-house battles as various top leaders have expressed interest in flying the party’s ticket during the 2022 general election.

It is worth noting that ODM party leader Raila Odinga is yet to declare whether he’ll vie in 2022, making the equation more difficult for those interested in the ticket.
