The ODM party has written to DCI boss George Kinoti and National Cohesion and Integration Commission over remarks by nominated Senator Issac Mwaura.
ODM is protesting lack of action regarding remarks made by Mwaura.
In the letter, ODM has cited an incident of a video that captured Mwaura saying that Raila Odinga was not welcomed in the Githurai area.
This was days before the chaotic Raila’s visit to the area.
ODM now wants DCI and NCIC to investigate to avoid what they termed 'throwing the country to the dogs'.
In a letter dated February 1, the party said the silence of the two institutions is akin to courting danger as the country heads to the 2022 General election.
The letter was signed by ODM Disability League chairperson Nickson Kakiri.
“We wish to remind you that the precedent you have set by not acting on Mwaura’s utterances and action is akin to courting danger,” Kakiri said.
“This country has a difficult history of tribal relations and election violence, therefore when one starts planting those seeds he must be promptly stopped, or more will spring up tomorrow preaching the same doctrine. Act now or throw the country to the dogs,” the letter read.
Mwaura had last week denied planning the chaos blaming it on a section of ODM leaders.
Mwaura had claimed that the chaos was ODM'S plan.
"They had planned this all along. That is a well-orchestrated scheme. Ask him (Sifuna) to give you more details. He seems to know better," he said.
