Governor Joho will now face his Kakamega counterpart Wycliffe Oparanya and ODM leader Raila Odinga for the party's 2022 presidential ticket.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has exuded confidence that he will fly the flag for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party in the 2022 polls.  

Speaking on his 2022 presidential ambitions, Joho said that he would emerge the winner and expected the Orange party to back him. 

"I am sure I will trounce all the other ODM presidential nominees," Joho declared.

The Governor also dismissed those questioning his presidential credentials adding that it was time for other regions to back them. 

"We have the ability to be able to lead this country just like any other person...If Raila and Uhuru can lead, I can also do it," Joho said. 

The Governor also urged the ODM party to support his candidacy if he trounced all other presidential nominees. 

Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir echoed the Governor's statement adding that they were part of building ODM and deserved a seat at the top. 

"We will not desert a house that we built to go and build another one from scratch. We deserve to be the leader of that house that we took part and parcel of building. We deserve a seat on top," Nassir stated.
