Members of the Public have been requested to submit their views on the candidates on or before March 3, 2021.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has shortlisted ten candidates for the position of Chief Justice (CJ) ahead of the interviews set for April 2021.

JSC has also shortlisted nine candidates for the position of Supreme Court judge.

Here are the ten candidates shortlisted for the CJ job:

  1. Justice Said Chitembwe
  2. Prof Patricia Mbote
  3. Justice Martha Koome
  4. Justice Marete Njagi
  5. Philip Murgor
  6. Justice Nduma Nderi
  7.  Fred Ngatia
  8. Justice William Ouko
  9. Dr Wekesa Moni
  10. Alice Yano

Out of the ten candidates, one will be selected to replace Justice David Maraga who retired over a month ago.

The position is currently being held by Justice Philomena Mwilu in an acting capacity.

The candidates shortlisted for the Supreme Court judge post include:

  • Justice Said Chitembwe
  • Justice Martha Koome
  • Justice M’inoti Kathurima
  • Justice Nduma Nderi
  • Lumumba Nyaberi
  • Justice William Ouko
  • Justice Joseph Sergon
  • Alice Yano.
