Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata has come under sharp criticism after comparing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s State House meeting with political party leaders to the crowning of David to be King of Israel.

In a Tweet on Friday, Kang’ata shared a photo of President Kenyatta and several political party leaders, and cheekily questioned “where is the youngest”.

“1 Samuel 16 in the bible. Jesse brought 7 of his children to Samuel. The prophet asked ," where is the youngest? He is the one to receive the blessings,” he tweeted.

Many believe he was referring to Deputy President William Ruto.

During the State House meeting, the leaders agreed to embark on a sensitization drive for the BBI and hold a joint consultative meeting on 9th March 2021, involving Members of Parliament and county leadership.
