Fresh details have emerged in the killing of a 32-year-old man in Nyeri who investigators believe his father is behind the murder.

The prime suspect in the murder of Daniel Mwangi Wang’ondu is his father Stephen Wang’ondu Kinini who police suspect was having an affair with his deceased son's wife.

On Friday, police apprehended another suspect whom they believe will be key in shedding light on the murder of Mwangi.

Hitmen Arrested

According to reports one of the men hired to kill Mwangi disclosed that the deceased’s wife and the father-in-law were caught up in a long-term affair.

Nyeri Senior Principal Magistrate Mathias Okuche directed police to hold the five suspects in custody until detectives complete the probe.

Another suspect identified as Raphael Wachira was arrested and presented in court where the magistrate ruled that he should also remain in custody for five more days.
