Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has explained why the Mt Kenya region has no problems with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

On Wednesday, Ngunyi noted a hashtag that was anti-Odinga and blasted the tweeps engaging and pushing the narrative that Mt Kenya would not endorse the ODM leader.

The political analyst explained that the region won't support Raila if it had a candidate from the area but since no one is eyeing the presidency they would support him.

Ngunyi's Take

"Leave Raila Odinga alone. After Kibaki tosha, Mt Kenya referred to Raila and Jamba (dume). And the only time Kikuyus have a problem with Raila is when a Kikuyu I running for president. In the meantime, Ruto is just a chocolate soldier behaving badly in GEMA," the analyst said.

In January Ngunyi argued DP William Ruto who is a Kalenjin cannot succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, a Kikuyu, as the presidency cannot be circulated only between the two tribes.

"Kikuyus will be out of power for the next 30 years. Their future out of government must be decided in the next 365 days. And William Ruto is not the future. To circulate the Presidency between Kikuyus and Kalenjis is a crime against the other 41 tribes. Choices: Raila or Matiangi," he tweeted.
