Tecra died on May 2 at a Nairobi hospital while undergoing treatment. Reports indicate that she fell off the stairs of a house she was sharing with Omar.

She was laid to rest on May 16, 2020, in a private ceremony at the family’s home in Naivasha.

Meanwhile, Omar was initially arrested in connection with the incident before being released mid-last year, after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji dropped murder charges against him.
