ODM leader Raila Odinga was yesternight admitted at the Nairobi Hospital after he was taken ill.

His personal assistant Dennis Onyango confirmed the incident, stating that the former premier has been adviced by doctors to go into isolation.

The former Prime Minister was tested for Covid-19 and the virus was not detected in his system.

"He says he feels okay, but doctors say some of the signs he has such as being tired, need to be monitored," Onyango stated.

He confirmed that the former premier had also been admitted at the hospital.

The illness forced Odinga to miss a key meeting at State House Nairobi with President Uhuru Kenyatta. March 9 was the anniversary of the handshake between the two leaders.

The meeting was to also be graced by other pro- Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) party leaders.

Wiper-Kenya leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC's Musalia Mudavadi, KANU's Gideon Moi, MCC's Alfred Mutua, Narc's Charity Ngilu, and FORD-Kenya leader Moses Wetangula.
