Police have launched investigations to establish the motive of the incident.

A General Service Unit officer at Chepchoina camp, Trans Nzoia on Tuesday evening killed himself after he attacked and opened fire on his two colleagues, leaving them battling for their lives.

The officer identified as Paul Kuria Kinyanjui reportedly shot himself on the head using his AK47 rifle.

His injured colleagues were airlifted to Nairobi for specialized treatment. Reports indicate that they are in stable condition.

Police have launched investigations to establish the motive of the incident.

 “He suddenly shot randomly injuring the two as others took cover. We don’t know the motive,” an officer at the camp said.

The incident comes barely a week after a man snatched a gun from a traffic police officer in Kisumu and shot indiscriminately killing two and injuring several other people.

According to witnesses, the man shot anyone that tried blocking his way as he escaped from officers responding to the shooting.

The assailant was pursued, killed and gun recovered.

The traffic police officer was manning Jomo Kenyatta highway roundabout at Kisumu Boy's junction.
