  • An application to have a criminal case against MP Babu Owino withdrawn has been dismissed.
  • The MP was ordered to tell the court what he's offered DJ Evolve's family.

A Nairobi court dismissed DJ Evolve's application seeking to withdraw the attempted murder case against Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

Babu Owino was ordered to tell the court what he's offered DJ Evolve's family.

DJ Evolve's brother Andrew Onyango, in October 2020 explained to the court that the family wanted the case withdrawn and settled out of court.

His father and mother had sworn in an affidavit before the court. DJ Evolve had appeared before the court on the same but he was inaudible while addressing the judge.

DJ Evolve's Family

On September 24, 2020, lawyer Kenneth Mumbo informed the magistrate that he had been appointed by Dj Evolve’s family to represent them in the criminal trial.

He produced a withdrawal letter dated September 21, 2020, bearing DJ’s thumbprint and signed by his parents Johannes Orongo and Mary Odhiambo.

In the letter, the three said after intense deliberations it was agreed that there was a need to have DJ Evolve and his family concentrate on his treatment rather than the pending case.

DJ Evolve parents acknowledged that Babu and DJ Evolve were great friends, adding that they had constantly engaged him on the case.
