Jubilee Party Executive Director James Waweru is dead.
Waweru died at Karen Hospital while receiving treatment. The cause of his death is still unknown.
The late Waweru was a career civil servant having served Sports Permanent Secretary and also as Nairobi Provincial Commissioner (PC) during President Mwai Kibaki's administration.

His body has since been moved to Lee funeral home.
While mourning Waweru, ODM leader Raila Odinga said: "My heartfelt condolences go to the family of Jubilee Party ED James Waweru who served the Nation in several capacities including former Sports PS & Nairobi PC. May Almighty God grant his family, friends, and colleagues courage to bear with the loss, and may He Rest in Peace."
On its part, Jubilee Party has mourned Waweru as a sober man who provided leadership and wisdom in the party.
The late Waweru has left behind one wife; Cecilia Muthoni and five children.
