A 37-year-old British national identified as Hind Jeremy has been arrested after flying his drone over Deputy President William Ruto’s residence in Karen, Nairobi.

Speaking after the arrest, Nairobi Police Commander Augustine Nthumbi said the drone strayed into DP Ruto’s residence on Monday night.

Nthumbi further noted that a complaint was filed by DP Ruto's wife Rachael Ruto.

Following the complaint, the police rushed to the scene, conducted investigations and established that the drone belonged to Jeremy who is a neighbour of the DP.

The drone and its memory card were seized from the suspect as police conduct more investigations.

It is not clear if the man was aware that the residence was a protected area, making it illegal to fly the drone around the area.
