Tanga Tanga MPs Evicted By Police

Police ejected a section of Tanga Tanga MPs from a hotel in Lavington, Nairobi where they had called a presser.

According to reports, police officers made the eviction in accordance with orders issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The legislators were scheduled to give an address focusing on the debt crisis and the lockdown containment measures.

Former State House operative Dennis Itumbi protested the move by officers stating that the MPs had issued a prior notice of the meeting to the police.

"The police stopped the press conference by MPs from the Disease Infected Zone (DIZ) initially scheduled to take place at The Social House, Lavington Nairobi.

"MPs and the media were ejected from the hotel. The survival and livelihood issues are a high priority - we will roll out the presser at the roadside," Itumbi stated.
