Anthony Makokha Leaves BBC to join the Standard Group as New Audio-Visual Managing Editor 

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has announced the departure of senior broadcast journalist Anthony Makokha.

According to the statement, Mr. Makokha leaves his role at BBC to join the Standard Group as their new Audio Visual Managing Editor.

In his new role at Standard Group, Mr. Makokha will be leading a team supporting digital, radio, TV, print, and outdoor campaigns. 

"We are very appreciative for all the hard work that Anthony has done for us over the past two years, and he will be missed. We are also very grateful to Anthony for leading the Nairobi team during this pandemic – as the team has been working remotely with various day-to-day challenges. 

"Anthony’s last day in the office is 28th April. Nearer the time will announce the date for Anthony’s leaving event. Details about the temporary managing arrangements for Nairobi will also be announced and communicated to the team soon," part of the statement by BBC read.

Prior to joining BBC, Mr. Makokha worked at Nation Media Group for seven years as a senior video producer.  

Among the roles played by the journalist at NMG include Production of Content for TV, Website and Mobile Optimization, Social Media Strategy, and New Media Integration to traditional TV.
