Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has shared a celebratory message after turning 50 years old.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru turned 50 years on Friday, April 16, 2021.

The first time governor took to social media to share a celebratory message as she ushers in a new phase of her life. She detailed her appreciation to friends and family for the support they have afforded her.

She outlined achievements she has conquered and yet to conquer along with the trials and tribulations she has had to endure in the course of her political career.

"Today I turn 50! I am grateful to God for His goodness in my joys, successes, and through my seasons of fires and darkest nights.

"He has been closer to me like no other. I am blessed to have wonderful family and friends and to be in good health. What a blessing to turn 50," Waiguru posted on her social media pages.

In 2020, the governor survived an impeachment motion after the Senate annulled charges fronted by members of the Kirinyaga County Assembly. They had accused her of violation of the Constitution, abuse of office, and gross misconduct.

Governor Waiguru recognized the efforts of her family and friends in ensuring she delivers on her mandate to the people of Kirinyaga.


In, her message, the governor thanked God for the wonderful gift of life, revealing that she has turned to Him on her needy days.

"Build a strong support system! Family and friends who stay true and remind you of what life is truly about are invaluable. They will keep you grounded," Waiguru stated.

" Live laugh & love! Try new things often. Some of my most enjoyable moments have been driving across this country stopping at Nyama joints, chats with ordinary Kenyans all this in great company! My husband & I have driven to 37 counties We hope to cover the remaining 10 soonest," she tweeted.

Waiguru urged Kenyans to consider generational impacts, striving to leave footprints that will inspire the generations to come.

"A special one for the women and young girls out there; we have lesser excuses and greater opportunities than those before us to make our voices heard! Let’s make them and future generations proud!" She concluded.
