  • Safaricom subscribers have been urged to plan accordingly in order to avoid any inconveniences.

Kenya’s leading telecommunication service provider Safaricom has announced that it will have a maintenance exercise on Saturday April 24 and Sunday April 25, resulting to some of its services being unavailable to users.

In a statement, Safaricom said the maintenance exercise will commence on Saturday at 10pm and end on Sunday at 9am.

The services set to be affected by the maintenance include; SIM swap, airtime top-up, tariff migration and activation of new lines.


Safaricom, however, noted that its other services including calls, data, M-Pesa, and SMS will be available during the maintenance period.

“All calls, M-Pesa, internet and data, and SMS services shall remain available for the entire duration of maintenance. The timing of the maintenance activity has been planned to result in the least of inconvenience to our customers,” Safaricom’s statement read in part.

“We are sorry for any inconveniences,” Safaricom added.

Safaricom is Kenya’s top telecommunication network. It boasts of millions of subscribers across the country.

One of Safaricom’s leading products is M-Pesa which has made it easier for Kenyans to send money via phone from all locations across the country.
