MP Oscar Sudi questioned by DCI over NHIF tendering scandal worth Ksh150 million

Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi recorded a statement at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters in Kiambu.

Reports indicated that Mr Sudi was being questioned over alleged tendering fraud at the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).

In September 2020, it emerged that sleuths were investigating four separate allegations of theft of funds at the national health insurer.

Another NHIF Probe

The NHIF is also in the spotlight over the appointment of directors and heads of department, some of whom have moved up five job groups without having the PSC qualifications.

NHIF was also in the spotlight over an organisational structure that saw various staff promoted to senior positions without the requisite qualifications.

DCI questioned the NHIF over the changes that may have implications for the scaling up of Universal Health Coverage, which is one of the Big Four agenda.
