The National Transport System Authority (NTSA) has unveiled a revamped Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS).

The National Transport System Authority (NTSA) has announced plans to revamp the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) to improve the quality of service delivery.

The state agency on Wednesday, April 28, conducted a training programme, sensitising on how to use the new platform. Th authority revealed that the system will go live in May 2021.

"The Authority has gathered feedback from the system users and the revamped system will go a long way in addressing a number of concerns raised by the public over the years. The Authority will continue evaluating, monitoring the services, and upgrading the system for better performance.

"The revamped TIMS platform will be faster, more integrated, simpler and easier to use, optimized, secure and with more reporting capabilities," NTSA stated.

The agency noted that under the new system, Kenyans will be able to monitor the progress of their pending applications.

"The turn-around time for service processing has also been enhanced and we expect to serve clients within shorter periods as compared to the past where an application verification and approval would take weeks," the state agency noted.

The authority announced that it is working to make comprehensive road transport data available to all, including academia for research.

NTSA noted that it would deploy methods to reduce road traffic fatalities and data-driven interventions.

TIMS is an online platform created to enable citizens easily access NTSA services. All government services offered by the state agency migrated to the platform in January 2017 to ease the access of services.

To open a TIMS account, one requires a national identification serial number, a KRA pin, and a phone number.

The NTSA TIMS account offers services including vehicle registration, car inspection, application of duplicate logbook, application of driving license, guidelines for training drivers, transfer of car ownership, online car search, reflective number plate application, and registration of physical or functional changes to cars.
