The mother to the late Elijah Obuong; one of the four men who went missing in Kitengel, has dismissed claims that his son was involved in criminal activities that may have resulted to his death.

Speaking after identifying his son’s body which was recovered in Murang’a County, Obuong’s mother noted that the deceased had questionable friends but was not involved in any illegal activities.

She further noted that his son was a victim of circumstances, adding that he was a staunch Christian.

"My son was a staunch Adventist and did not take alcoholic drinks. He only had friends of questionable character.

"It is painful. It is cruel and merciless to kill such an innocent, harmless person. My firstborn son has died a cruel death leaving his only other brother and us," she said.

Meanwhile, two additional bodies of the four missing Kitengela men have so far been recovered. On Thursday; police recovered bodies believed to be of Jack Onyango and Benjamin Imbai.

The body of Brian Oduor; the fourth member of the group is yet to be recovered even as police continue with investigations.

Earlier on, reports emerged that one of the four missing men was a criminal mastermind who had spent time at Shimo la Tewa prison.

The reports created speculation that the four may have gone missing after being involved in a deal that did not go as planned.

Obuong’s family, however, maintains that their son lived on the straight and narrow path.
