Education CS George Magoha has warned universities against admitting only tribesmen.

Education Cabinet Secretary professor George Magoha today, April 30, 2021, issued a stern warning to Universities in the country.

The CS while addressing the 20th Maseno University graduation ceremony warned the tertiary institutions against populating themselves with tribesmen.

"If you populate a university with your tribesmen, then that is a village university. It cannot be a (national) university.

"Even if you don't like the person, but he is the best person, you will take him," he ordered.

Magoha proceeded to challenge the quality of teaching in universities in the country. He urged students and lecturers to ensure success in the universities.

"When you consider the ratio of your full professors to the known academic staff how does it look? Are you intelligent to keep your professors on pay roll if they are still productive or are you one who will think because you want to ride sides, you start with killing the chicken.

"That is a tragedy of the greatest proportion," he stated.
